This book is taken from the lives of old-timers mostly from the Casa Grande Valley area – who gave so much and asked for so little.
When an individual undertakes to write a book of this type, he is immediately beset with a feeling of inadequacy. Each person in these stories is worthy of more. Here only the highlights have been touched – from the memory of the writer.

Research of these folkloric true stories have brought us in contact with many wonderful people – my hand to all of them, including Mr. Don Kramer Sr., that I was able to publish my sketches and articles.
They say its customary to dedicate a book – so this little one is dedicated with blessed memory to my family, who lived it. Some of them have been gone many years. (Duerman bien viejitos.)
